Kind words from satisfied clients
We are fortunate to work with many remarkable clients and are proud to share the following testimonials:
"Kaufman-Wills has helped us tackle a number of projects, both large and small. Cara and Alma bring a breadth of experience in publishing that is remarkable, and this helps get initiatives off to a running start. They are insightful, and tell it like it is, in a tactful and respectful manner. They are very dedicated, have a lot of energy, and get things done on time."
--Kent Anderson, Executive Director, International Business and Product Development, New England Journal of Medicine
"The Kaufman Wills Group was instrumental in ensuring ASCO’s successful transition from commercial to self-publishing for the Journal of Clinical Oncology. Their extensive knowledge and experience in all aspects of scholarly publishing enabled us to address every detail of establishing strategies and tactics for the business, policy, and production areas of focus. As a result, our first self-published issue was launched without a single misstep. One area of ongoing concentration in our relationship with Alma and Cara has been the vital maintenance and growth of institutional subscriptions: Their advice and pursuit of the best pricing and strategies have been powerful, making possible an increase in subscriptions against the industry trend. In addition, their warm, collegial style is welcoming and makes it a pleasure to continue to work with them."
-- Robin Bodishbaugh, MA, Director and Publisher, Journal of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Clinical Oncology
"IARS has worked with Kaufman–Wills (KW) on several publishing projects. KW has always provided prompt, appropriately detailed information from which we could make informed decisions. KW understands the increasingly complex publishing environment and has translated and assimilated that knowledge succinctly into how it will impact our organization, our journal, and our very specific needs. The expertise KW brings to the table has been invaluable in helping us understand not only the major, obvious issues at stake, but also the subtler, yet equally important, smaller issues. KW staff are always readily available to provide clarification and/or additional information. I continue to be very impressed by the professionalism and speed with which KW responds to our numerous and oft times complicated queries. I recommend them highly and without qualification."

"AlphaMed Press, publisher of The Oncologist and Stem Cells, has come to rely for its strategic growth upon the scholarly publishing experience and expertise of Kaufman-Wills Group, LLC. The principals are broadly experienced, personally responsive and unquestionably ethical. We first came to know the Kaufman-Wills Group, LLC at a HighWire Publishers Meeting; they were also highly recommended by many colleagues, including fellow HighWire publisher, Health Affairs, and our journal printer, The Sheridan Press."
-- Ann Murphy, PhD, President, AlphaMed Company, Inc.
"Our relationship with the folks at Kaufman-Wills, spanning the last three-and-a-half years, has been anything but an ordinary client – service provider relationship.
Their vision and depth of industry knowledge is further enhanced by their professional, flexible, and accommodating work style. Because of this, we feel as though they are a part of the Sheridan team.
Mutual respect, absolute client confidentiality, and insightful, proactive service are hallmarks of the Kaufman-Wills experience. Working with Kaufman-Wills continues to be an absolute delight."

"Like many STM publishers, the Company of Biologists was considering the adoption of alternative journal subscription pricing strategies (including tiered pricing) but, in common with many smaller publishers, it was concerned with the time and expertise implications of pursuing the necessary work in-house. Following a recommendation from a fellow HighWire Press hosted publisher, we decided to ask Kaufman-Wills to undertake a thorough-going review of our current subscription position and to propose a strategy for the future. Kaufman-Wills demonstrated an excellent understanding of the fairly complex issues involved right from the start and moved efficiently through the necessary analysis to a full scale working model of a new tiered pricing strategy which has now been adopted. Working with them made a potentially difficult and time-consuming process happen much more quickly and with far fewer complications than would otherwise have been the case."
-- Nick Burch, Sales and Marketing Manager, The Company of Biologists, Limited
"We selected Kaufman-Wills as a partner on our candidate searches because they know ASCO from their consulting role, and because they have a depth of knowledge and contacts in the publishing field that ASCO's HR Department does not have.
The projects we collaborated on recently were candidate searches at a senior level.
The quality of work met our expectations in terms of their ability to independently seek out possible candidates and engage them in dialogue about our open position. Their feedback notes were comprehensive and their status updates were timely.
As a result of their involvement and active recruiting efforts on our behalf we were able to hire two highly qualified candidates as a direct result of their sourcing.
In working directly with Alma, I found her to be responsive and professional. I had absolutely no concerns about her ability to represent ASCO and the positions we were seeking to fill. The candidates also seemed very comfortable with her manner and approachable style."
